Short version: when you submit a photo, you keep the copyright, but you give us permission to publish it. Don't submit work that isn't yours.

The service

$Publisher{SITE} is a curated photography publication. Photographers submit work for consideration, and selected images are published in the online reader and, for top-voted work, in an annual print edition.

Submitting your work

By submitting a photograph, you confirm you own the rights to it or have permission to submit it, and you grant $Publisher{SITE} a non-exclusive license to publish, display, and promote it in the magazine, on this site, and in related marketing. You keep your copyright. We do not claim ownership of your photograph.

Selection and voting

Whether a submitted photo is published is entirely at our editorial discretion. Any reader voting or "best of" mechanic on this site is for editorial and promotional purposes; it is not a contest with a guaranteed prize, and we may change how it works at any time.

Removal

You may ask us to remove a published photo at any time, and we may remove any submission or published work at our discretion.

No warranty

This site is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, $Publisher{SITE} is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of this site or participation in a submission.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina.
